Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla was established in the year 1966. The institute is also known as IGMC. IGMC is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. It was formerly known as Himachal Pradesh Medical College and in the year 1984, it was named Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students. The total number of PG Degree seats are 96. DNB in Cardiology and MCH in CTVS has been started by IGMC. 187 B.Sc Paramedical students have passed out till 2014. Now PG courses in the disciplines of Psychiatry and Pulmonary Medicine have been started. 50% of seats are available at IGMC through all India Quota from 2005 onwards.15% seats in the M.B.B.S. course are available to all I India Quota and 2 seats are available to NRI candidates.
