Overview

    Indian Diploma in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (IDPCCM) is a one year course (for MD / DNB) and 2 year course for DCH candidates. Eligibility is MD / DNB / DCH in Pediatrics (Medical Council of India –MCI approved). Candidates with a overseas postgraduate degree in Pediatrics, will qualify after completing MCI regulations. The course is currently being run in accredited centres in India. The selection of the candidate is done through online Central Entrance Test (IAP-ICC-CET). Registration for the course, will be once a year in the month of January. EXIT Exam consists of theory and practicals. The theory examination pattern consists of MCQ based (100 marks question paper- 3 hours) and passing is strictly 60% and above. Those who pass this theory exam, are then allowed to appear for practical exam which consists of case-based viva (Long or Short) along with OSCE (Observed structured clinical examination). Thus the practical examination has various subheadings, and for passing minimum 50% in each head and overall minimum average 60% is required.

    After completion of Fellowship in PICC course, students can opt for jobs in various sectors such as in Colleges and Universities, Hospitals, Research Laboratories, Govt. Organizations etc. as a Teacher/ Lecturer, Researcher, Immunologist etc.
