Home Health Aide

In order to be eligible for course student should have completed class 8th. Must be 20 years old at the time of joining the course.

The Home Health Aide (HHA) course trains students to work as home aides providing basic nursing & personal care for patients, elderly people and people with disabilities. Besides, HHAs are also trained to support nurses and other healthcare professionals. The HHA training lays emphasis on ensuring that the comfort and safety of the patient are kept in mind at all times.

The Home Health Aide (HHA) course curriculum covers the following topics:

» Basic human anatomy & physiology.

» Understanding a patient's needs.

» Caring for the visually impaired.

» Daily care of a patient.

» Feeding a patient.

» Understanding body mechanics.

» Fall prevention care and restraints.

» Communication with patients and their careers.

» General health & hygiene.

» Special skin care for pressure sores.

» Role of a patient care assistant.

» Bathing a patient.

» Administering drugs as per prescriptions.

» Disposal of medical waste.

» Patient handling, liting, and moving patients.

» Emergency first aid.

The admission process at the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in New Delhi and Mohali is as follows:

• 1) Complete the form and take the entrance test as per the course of your choice. The entrance test is based on a standard school science syllabus and does not require any specialised studying beyond revision of basic science concepts.
• 2) Candidates who clear the entrance test will have a personal interview with a senior member of the faculty. Admission is confirmed only upon receiving valid documents and receipt of the first instalment of fees.

Documents Required For Admission:-

-Original mark sheet and Aadhaar card to be shown at the time of admission.
-Photocopy of self-attested mark sheets, graduation certificates, Aadhaar card.
-2 recent colour passport size photographs.
-Complete admission form.
-Signed undertaking form.
