Hematology & Oncology Fellowship

• Must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Must have completed an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency before fellowship enrollment.
• International Medical Graduates must have a valid ECFMG Certificate.
• IMGs must be permanent residents or eligible for a J-1 visa.
• Applicants must demonstrate an interest in hematology, oncology, and academic research

The Hematology & Medical Oncology Fellowship Program is a 3-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to train future leaders in hematology and oncology through comprehensive clinical training, academic mentorship, and research. The program offers independent Medical Oncology and Hematology tracks, allowing fellows to pursue single or dual board certification with flexible training pathways. Fellows receive intensive inpatient and outpatient clinical experience during the first year, followed by protected research training tailored to their career goals. The program emphasizes translational research, multidisciplinary care, clinical trials, and mentorship from internationally recognized faculty at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Select the Medical Oncology Track, Hematology Track, or both in ERAS.
3. Submit the required documents:

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Personal Statement (including clinical and research interests)
• Three Letters of Recommendation (Training Director + two additional letters)
• USMLE transcript
• Photograph (requested but not required)

1. Applications are reviewed by the fellowship selection committee.
2. Shortlisted applicants are invited for interviews.
3. Fellowship positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
4. Successful applicants begin training in July
