The foundation stone of hospital was laid in October 1961 and commissioned in 30 April 1964, by late Prime Minister of India, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. The hospital is a 714 bedded tertiary care centre, catering approximate 3,00,000 OPD and 15,000 In-door Patients every year. It is also recognized for post graduate medical courses of MD/ MS and super specialty courses of DM/ MCh in different specialties under Medical Council of India (MCI).
