This Govt. Medical College Latur was started in 26.4. 2002. The college is affiliated to MUHS, Nashik. The first batch of 100 MBBS students was admitted in July 2003. Admission is made through CET / NEET (85% from state CET and 15% from All India PMT). The college was started on the premises of the District Hospital (200 beds). Kasturba Gandhi Women's hospital (60 beds) and Eye Hospital (60 beds) run by the public health department of Maharashtra too were merged.
