The Government Medical College (GMC), Haldwani was established in the year 2003 by Government of Uttarkhand. The first batch of 100 MBBS student was admitted in the year 2004-05. It is affiliated with Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun. The GMC Haldwani is also offers MD/MS courses being run in fifteen specialties, at present there are 39 Post Graduate (MD/MS) seats in the college.
