Government Homoeopathic Medical College (GHMC), Thiruvananthapuram

The Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram started functioning during 1980 as Dr. K. J. Issac, as the Principal. Then the college was affiliated to the University of Kerala and approved by the Central Council of Homoeopathy under the Department of AYUSH of Government of India. After the formation of Kerala university of Health Sciences(KUHS) the college is affiliated to KUHS.The College is owned by the Government of Kerala.The Five and a half years BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) degree course was started on the same year. The BHMS graded degree course was started on 1991 for a period of three years. The three year Post Graduate course (MD (Hom)) in two subjects (Homoeopathic Philosophy and Materia Medica) were started in 1995. In 1996 another PG course in Repertory was added. In the year 2004, Post Graduate courses were started in the subject of Practice of Medicine and Homoeopathic Pharmacy.
