Government Ayurveda Medical college & hospital was established by Government of Tamilnadu in the year 2006 for the purpose of ensuring, effective and systematic instructions, teaching, training, research and development in ayurveda. First batch of students got admitted in the academic year 2009-10. The college was established in Kanyakumari district because Ayurvedic Medicines and treatments are very much popular among the public. The college is permanently affiliated to TN MGR Medical University, Chennai, Tamilnadu. The University awards the degree to the successful students of the college.
