The first batch of 150 MBBS students was admitted in GMERS medical college, Gandhinagar during August 2012. Total duration of MBBS course is 4 & ½ year and Compulsory rotational Internship of 1 year. 1st MBBS is of 1 year duration during which students learn subjects like Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, and Community Medicine. 2nd MBBS is of 1 & ½ year duration with subjects like Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, and Community Medicine. 3rd MBBS is of 2 year duration with subjects like Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary Medicine, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, Skin & VD, ENT, and Dentistry.
