General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Overview

GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery, a three-year diploma course is designed for students who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing and is aimed at preparing students for the clinical approach of handling patients.This diploma program at Era University includes a six-month internship at our constituent multispecialty hospital i.e. Era’s Lucknow Medical College & Hospital (ELMC&H), a 850 bed teaching hospital, accredited by NABL and pre-accredited by NABH. The hospital is fully equipped with advanced, world-class diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and supported by a highly qualified and dedicated faculty. The first year curriculum comprises of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, community health, psychology, microbiology, personal & environmental health, health education, sociology, fundamentals of nursing, first aid, health education & communication skills.In the second year students study pharmacology, medical surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, orthopedic nursing, ophthalmic nursing, community health nursing, mental health, psychiatric nursing and communicable diseases.The third year of the studies comprise of lessons on advanced community health nursing, pediatric nursing, midwifery and gynecology, introduction to research, administration and ward management, professional trends and adjustment and health economics.Not only this, our experienced faculty train the students in effective communication skills and soft skills also to make them future job ready professionals and this attribute instilled in our students makes EU stand tall among the best nursing colleges of Lucknow, UP, India.

Eligibility

The candidate must have completed their class 12th in science stream where biology subjects are preferred with a minimum of 50% marks.
