General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Overview

The GNM Nursing course curriculum is aimed at shaping students into skilled nursing professionals. The GNM Nursing syllabus is crafted thoughtfully to ensure a robust foundation in both theory and practical concepts of nursing through 8 semesters. The GNM syllabus delves into specific nursing-related topics like community nursing offering a well-rounded education in the realm of nursing.

The GNM Nursing syllabus course covers topics such as health care, nursing science, midwifery, mental health promotion, illness prevention, and health care teaching. GNM Syllabus is based on a three-year course that focuses on many areas such as Health Education and Communication Skills, Nutrition, English, Computer Application, and so on. The GNM Nursing syllabus is intended to teach students concepts linked to nursing and medical health care.

One of the highlights of CIMSAR’s GNM course is the emphasis on practical training. Students gain exposure to state-of-the-art hospitals equipped with facilities of modern equipment and instruments. Under the guidance of experienced faculties, learners develop proficiency in Patient care, Medication, and analysis, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle real-world scenarios.

Eligibility

• Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December.
• The candidates must have passed 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks from CHSE Odisha or equivalent there of, however science is preferable. Or
• 10 +2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks from state open schools recognized by state Govt. and National Institute of Open School recognized by Central Govt. Or Registered ANM with 10+2 pass. Or 10+2 with English having 40% marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council. Or 10 +2 with English having 40% marks in Vocational stream-Health care e Science from a recognized CBSE Board/ State/ Center. 3. 5% of total mark is relaxed for SC/ ST candidates. 
• The candidate must have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia (applicable candidates taking admission in central counseling only).
• The candidates must be a Domicile of Odisha /permanent resident of Odisha / native of Odisha.(Applicable for candidates taking admission in Govt. counseling only). 
• Both female / male candidates can apply.
• Shall be medically fit for the course (Medical certificate format in annexure -V).
