General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

• 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
• 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
• 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
• Registered ANM with pass mark.

General Nursing and Midwifery, is a 3-year diploma course that is also known as GNM Nursing. It is a course designed for candidates interested in a career in Clinical Nursing. The 3-year GNM Nursing course is structured into three years of instruction followed by six months of required internship.

• Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery is 3 years of full time course including Period of Internship.
• It is targeted towards those with keen interest in this sector
• It will help the students in enhancing their skills and knowledge for a better career
• The focus of general nursing is the care of the sick in hospitals. Schools of nursing are attached to teaching hospitals. The candidates need to have passed the senior secondary examinations. Both science and art students are eligible for study.
• The duration is three years.

• The course provides balanced professional and general education and enables students to become professional nurses.
• The course prepares nurses to work at bedside and take up leadership roles in public health nursing.
