General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course is A Diploma Nursing course. It deals with the field of science and covers healthcare profession focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may maintain, attain or recover optimal health and quality of life from conception to death. It prepares the students to practice across all health care settings. A balanced Equation course, GNM Skills the candidate well to assist the doctors in taking history with examination, diagnosis and treatment they implement what the doctor prescribes. They are the only medical staff who collects the health care data and records vital for evaluation of treatment and medications.

This course will enable you to go for various nursing, midwifery and related other medical jobs in hospitals. GNM aspirants can work at Hospitals, Private clinics, Schools, Private offices, Training institutes, and Rehabilitation centres. Nurses can also take up administrative and teaching positions in medical colleges and nursing schools.

Eligibility
- Must pass 10+2 examination from any recognized board with at least 40% marks in aggregate & 40% marks in English (passed mean pass in Theory & Practical/ Project as applicable), Or
- Candidate passing in vocational stream from the Health care Science with English & with at least 40% marks in aggregate. Or
- Must be a registered ANM (with pass mark). Must be a permanent resident of WB. Age- Female- Minimum 17 years to 35 years as on 31st December. &
- Candidate Must Be Read, Write & Express In Bengali & /Or Nepali.
