General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

The following describes the criteria as per the latest communications received from the concerned Authorities (i.e., the Dept. of H&FW, Govt. of W.B.).

• The applicant must be a citizen of India. 
• The minimum age of admission shall be 17 years on 31th December of the years in which admission is sought, The maximum age limit shall be 35 years on 31st December of the years in which admission is sought.
• Gender: Only Female.
• Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least last 10 years till 31.12 and she must be a permanent resident of a Gram Panchayat area. 
• Must pass the ‘10+2’ examination with English as one of the subjects from any recognized Board in regular class mode. Vocational Stream-Health Care Sc. with at least 40% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in English. 
• Must be able to read, write and express in Bengali and/or Nepali.
• All candidates must be medically fit for the course and produce a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission in the format (as provided by the Dept of H&FW, Govt of W.B.)
