General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

• Minimum educational qualification:
  1. 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized Board. Candidates are also eligible from state Open School recognized by State Government and national Institute of Open School recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
  2. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM Course from the School recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
• Physical and Mental Fitness: The applicant must be physically and mentally fit to undergo class room teaching and practical training of 3 years duration.
• Age: Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of that year). The upper age limit is 35 years. For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar.

The duration of the course is three years including internship. There should be Preliminary Period of 12 weeks before going to Clinical experience duty in the hospitals. However if the duration of the course is increased by the Council on any ground then the institution will not bear the cost for extra period. The duration of the Course is subject to change.
