General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

• Must be a citizen of India.
• Unmarried female candidates only.
• Candidate should be age between 17 - 35 years as on 31st December
• Age relaxation of 05 years for ST/SC candidates & 03 years for O.B.C. Candidates.
• Educational qualifications: Must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate / HS or equivalent Examination in Arts/Commerce /Science with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) from any recognized Board / Council/University. However, student with science subject will be given preference in admission.
• Candidate must have passed English subject with minimum of 40 (Forty) marks in 10+2 examination.
• Candidate with ANM passed from INC/APNC recognized institute with registered in SNRC also eligible for admission. Candidates must be physically and mentally fit at the time of admission and during the duration of the whole course. Getting married during the duration of course shall not be allowed.

Nursing is an integral part of the health care system which promotes mental health and prevention of illness within the health care. They are the pillars of medical and health care systems functioning in the country. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three year diploma course and is one of the most pursued nursing courses. It is meant to prepare general nurses who can efficiently perform as members of the health team and capable of dealing the competencies in both the hospitals and community settings. It also teaches the students how to care for individuals who are sick or have been injured in order to help them attain full recovery and also equips the students with multiple skills.
