GEM Hospital was initially started as Coimbatore Institute of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgery (CIGES) in the year 1991 by its founder Dr.C.Palanivelu. Over the next 10 years, the institute grew in stature to become the sought after destination for laparoscopic surgery and gastroenterology.
