Overview

The GIHS program in Food Safety and Quality management Certification covers a wide range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage FMCG industries with safety. This qualification provides the learner a combination of industry specific Food Safety practices and implementation of HACCP systems. The qualification has been designed taking into account an unbiased and concise overviews which form in total a comprehensive coverage of a broad range of food safety topics, Food COMMODITIES, including their potential hazards and controls; Food safety management systems, including their elements and the roles of stakeholders. This program provides a platform for experts from the field of food safety and related fields, such as nutrition, food science and technology and environment to share and learn from state-of-the art expertise with the rest of the food safety community.

Course Objectives:

• The objectives of the food safety and quality management courses is to provide training course which are to update the candidate’s food Safety management skills and knowledge. Food safety is used as a scientific discipline describing handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent food-borne illness. The occurrence of two or more cases of a similar illnesses resulting from the ingestion of a common food is known as a food-borne disease outbreak. 
• Food safety with quality management is a broad term for the laws, rules, guidance and processes designed to help protect employees, the public and the environment from harm. 
• In the workplace, the responsibilities for designing and implementing appropriate procedures is often assigned to a specific department, often called the Food quality department which is responsible for health and safety of human beings.
