Overview
- Fellow has to maintain a dedicated log book / e portfolio indicating the number of cases assisted, performed under supervision, and performed independently.
- Fellow has to enroll himself into any one of the research projects involving regional anesthesia and contribute to the designing, data collection, analysis and interpretation, manuscript writing and publication process of the research project. Completion of one dissertation topic under AORA accredited teacher is desirable.
- Attendance certificate indicating at least 80% attendance to be provided by the AORA teacher
- Fellow must attend at least one cadaveric workshop, one RA workshop (Basic/Advanced) and one regional anesthesia conference before final exit exam. Workshops and conferences must be AORA accredited
- Any one-paper/poster presentation at any one of the AORA accredited conferences.
- Fellow must attend at least two value addition courses provided by AORA before final exit exam. Value addition courses such us POCUS, Research Methodology, Simulation in RA etc. Fellows will be notified about various value addition courses through AORA website from time to time. All value addition courses must be AORA accredited
- Trainee who pass theory but fail the practical exam may make ONE more attempt at Practical exam within two years of completion of the theory exam
- All trainee who repeat the exam would have to pay the additional fee of Rs. 10,000/- per attempt.
- All trainees who is appearing for the exam primary or supplementary exams should fill the examination application form to obtain the hall ticket.
The fellowship is accredited under Dr Vishwas Sathe.
This will be a post-doctoral one-year inhouse fellowship conducted at different AORA accredited regional anesthesia institutions under various AORA accredited teachers.
On successful completion of the course the fellow should be able to demonstrate competency in terms of skill, knowledge and attitude in delivering safe and effective Regional anesthesia for better patient care.

Applicant must have MCI recognized MD / DA / DNB degree in Anesthesiology / any equivalent Anesthesiology degree from their home country (for NRI candidates).

Admission Process:
- Selection will be done by the AORA recognized teacher of the respective institute based on candidate’s eligibility which should be confirmed by the individual teachers & institutes.
- The selection process may vary institute to institute, it is at the sole discretion of Teacher and institution. AORA is not involved in selection process directly or indirectly.
- Candidates will be paid a salary/stipend as per the rules of the institute where they are appointed.
- After selection trainee must register himself/herself with AORA by filling online trainee registration form with fee of Rs. 60,000.
- No hospital, institute or individual may levy any direct or indirect fee to an individual trainee in any relation to the course. The only fee is that which is to be given directly to the society at the time of registration or repeat examination.
- Once selected, it is mandatory for the trainee to become AORA Life member.
- The AORA fellowship will be offered in two sessions per academic year: 1st session from January to December and 2nd from July to June. The selected candidates must join the fellowship by 31st of January or July, according to the session of admission. The selected candidates must confirm their acceptance by paying the fellowship fees by 15th of January or July. If this deadline is not met, the seat will be offered to the next candidate in the waiting list. The admission period for each session will end on 31st of January or July, beyond which student enrolment will not be accepted.
