Fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery

The Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a two-year ACGME-accredited advanced clinical training program designed to provide comprehensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. The fellowship offers extensive training across the full spectrum of vascular surgery, including aortic, peripheral arterial, renal, visceral, venous, and cerebrovascular disorders. Fellows gain advanced experience in both traditional open vascular surgical procedures and minimally invasive endovascular interventions, including complex vascular reconstructions and catheter-based therapies. The program provides training in non-invasive vascular laboratory studies, imaging interpretation, hybrid operating room procedures, and perioperative patient management. Fellows rotate between UC Irvine Medical Center and the Long Beach VA Healthcare System, gaining exposure to high-volume vascular cases and multidisciplinary care. The fellowship also encourages clinical research, outcomes-based studies, academic conferences, and professional development, preparing graduates for independent practice and leadership roles in vascular and endovascular surgery.
