Fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

1. Applicants must have completed or plan to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the United States or Canada.
2. Applicants must be in good standing with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
3. Applicants must meet all applicable UAB employment requirements.
4. Applicants must comply with UAB institutional requirements, including the smoke-free policy.

The UAB Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship is a three-year advanced fellowship providing comprehensive training in the clinical and research aspects of female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Fellows receive high-volume clinical and surgical experience in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and other pelvic floor conditions. The training structure includes 12 months of research, 12 months of urogynecology, and 12 months of combined urogynecology and urology. The program also emphasizes multidisciplinary care, research methodology, biostatistics, academic development, and both surgical and nonsurgical treatment approaches
