Fellowship in Speech Language Pathology

The Speech-Language Pathology Fellowship in Voice, Swallowing, and Upper Airway at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a 12-month, full-time clinical fellowship designed to develop advanced expertise in the assessment and treatment of voice, upper airway, and swallowing disorders. Fellows receive progressive clinical responsibility in an interprofessional setting and gain experience with behavioral, medical, and surgical aspects of patient care. Training includes videostrobolaryngoscopy, FEES, VFSS, acoustic and aerodynamic testing, outpatient care, and selected inpatient care following head and neck cancer surgery. The program also includes interdisciplinary voice and dysphagia rounds, teaching opportunities, and research, with fellows expected to complete a clinical research project, present an abstract, and submit a manuscript during the fellowship.

2. Submit a Personal Statement of no more than 1 page addressing motivation, career goals, and culturally responsive clinical practice
3. Submit a CV/Resume of no more than 2 pages
4. Submit 2 Letters of Recommendation
5. Ensure all required documents are submitted with the application
6. Applications are reviewed by the fellowship program
7. Selected candidates proceed through the program's selection process
8. The fellowship is a 12-month, full-time, paid clinical position
9. The preferred start date is August 1, although exceptions may be considered
10. Applications for 2026–2027 are closed; applications for 2027–2028 open in January 2027.
