Fellowship in Simulation

1. Must be an Emergency Medicine physician.
2. Should have an interest in medical simulation and medical education.
3. Should be interested in developing expertise in simulation-based medical education, curriculum development, scenario building, and learner assessment.
4. Should have an interest in simulation leadership, systems improvement, and patient safety.

The one-year Simulation Fellowship at UAB provides physicians with advanced training in medical simulation and simulation-based medical education. Fellows develop expertise in simulation curriculum and scenario development, simulation technology, patient simulators, task trainers, virtual reality, and debriefing. The program also includes teaching medical students and residents, systems improvement, patient safety, and completion of a scholarly project. Fellows may also pursue a Master of Science in Healthcare Simulation during the fellowship.
