Fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine

1. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent medical degree from a qualifying medical school.
2. Candidates must have completed an Internal Medicine residency before entering the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Cedars-Sinai trainee records confirm fellows entering this program after Internal Medicine residency.
3. Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada must have graduated from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and must have either current Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification or full and unrestricted United States medical licensure.
4. Candidates must meet the applicable Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) specialty requirements and Cedars-Sinai institutional requirements.
5. Candidates must satisfy applicable California medical licensing and credentialing requirements before beginning clinical training.

The Fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a three-year advanced training program that provides comprehensive clinical and academic training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Fellows receive experience in the evaluation and management of complex pulmonary disorders, critical illness, intensive care, advanced lung disease, and lung transplantation. The program combines inpatient and outpatient clinical training with conferences, multidisciplinary learning, and opportunities for clinical and academic research, preparing fellows for advanced practice in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

1. Complete the required Internal Medicine residency training.
2. Prepare the fellowship application and supporting documents, including curriculum vitae, personal statement, educational records, and letters of recommendation as required by the program.
3. Submit the application through the application method specified by the Cedars-Sinai Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.
4. Eligible applicants may be invited for an interview.
5. The program reviews applicants based on their postgraduate training, academic credentials, clinical experience, and suitability for pulmonary and critical care medicine training. Cedars-Sinai's institutional policy states that selection considers preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills, motivation, and integrity.
6. Selected candidates must complete the required Cedars-Sinai credentialing, licensing, and onboarding requirements before starting the fellowship.
