Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine

1. Applicants must be in the final year of an Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics residency.
2. Applicants must register for the Primary Care Sports Medicine Specialty Match through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
3. Applicants must submit a completed Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) application, a signed American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) Code of Ethics for the Match, a copy of a publication title page if applicable, and a copy of a current state medical license.
4. Matched applicants must obtain a California Physician’s and Surgeon’s medical license by the program’s specified deadline.
5. International medical graduates without a California medical license should contact the program coordinator to clarify eligibility.

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship provides interdisciplinary training in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of sports-related injuries and illnesses. Training includes injury prevention, rehabilitation, musculoskeletal ultrasound, image-guided injections, athlete care, pediatric sports medicine, and return-to-play planning. Fellows work with UCLA athletes and other athletic populations and participate in clinical research, teaching, and educational activities.
