Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology

The Pediatric Neurology Residency Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is an ACGME-accredited three-year Child Neurology training program designed to provide comprehensive education and clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders affecting children and adolescents. The program offers training in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology, adult neurology, and subspecialty areas including epilepsy, neurophysiology, neuromuscular disorders, neurodevelopmental disabilities, neuro-oncology, neuroradiology, and rehabilitation. Residents receive clinical exposure at University Hospital at Downstate, Kings County Hospital Center, and affiliated institutions, managing a diverse range of neurological conditions such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, developmental disorders, headaches, congenital neurological disorders, and CNS tumors. The curriculum combines bedside clinical training, subspecialty rotations, research opportunities, conferences, teaching activities, and board preparation to prepare graduates for independent practice in pediatric neurology or further subspecialty fellowship training.
