Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia

1. Must hold an MD degree.
2. Must have completed an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency.
3. Prior completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship is preferred, but not stated as mandatory.
4. Must have or be eligible to obtain a California medical license.

The fellowship provides specialized training in anesthesia for children undergoing cardiac surgery to correct congenital heart defects. Training includes pediatric cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, operating room care for children with congenital heart disease, and general anesthesiology practice. Fellows are appointed as Clinical Instructors and serve as attending general anesthesiologists in the operating rooms one day per week.

1. Review the fellowship prerequisites and confirm eligibility for the one-year Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship.
2. Contact the fellowship director or the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UCLA Health to obtain the current application instructions.
3. Prepare the required medical degree certificates, anesthesiology residency completion documents, curriculum vitae, and other supporting documents as requested by the program.
4. Submit the application and supporting documents according to the instructions provided by the fellowship program.
5. Complete any additional evaluation or interview requirements communicated by the program.
6. Obtain a valid California medical license before starting the fellowship, if not already held.
