The Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a two-year GME-recognized fellowship offered through the Division of Cardiology at the internationally renowned Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. The program provides comprehensive training in advanced multimodality cardiovascular imaging with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, innovation, and research. During the first year, fellows develop expertise in advanced transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, including 3D echocardiography, strain imaging, interventional echocardiography, structural heart imaging, and adult congenital heart disease imaging. The second year focuses on advanced Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI, enabling fellows to achieve competency in the acquisition, interpretation, and clinical integration of these imaging modalities. Fellows participate in specialized imaging clinics, multidisciplinary structural heart conferences, and collaborative educational activities while receiving dedicated mentorship from nationally recognized cardiovascular imaging faculty. The curriculum includes protected research time, and fellows are expected to complete significant scholarly work suitable for presentation at national meetings and publication in peer-reviewed journals. Graduates are well prepared for careers in academic cardiovascular imaging, imaging laboratory leadership, and advanced clinical practice.
