Fellowship in Neuro Critical Care

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Completion of an approved residency program.
• Board eligible or board certified in the primary specialty.
• Eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Apply through ERAS and participate in the NRMP Match, if applicable.
• Submit a CV, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and other required documents.
• Successfully complete interviews and credentialing requirements.

The Neurocritical Care Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine provides rigorous training in the care of patients with life-threatening neurologic and neurosurgical illnesses. Fellows gain extensive experience managing stroke, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, intracranial hemorrhage, and postoperative neurosurgical patients in a high-acuity neuro-ICU. The curriculum emphasizes advanced neuromonitoring techniques, critical care procedures, and evidence-based decision-making within a multidisciplinary team. Fellows participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational conferences under the mentorship of distinguished faculty. Exposure to cutting-edge therapies and a diverse patient population fosters both clinical excellence and scholarly growth. Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for leadership roles in academic neurocritical care and specialized intensive care practice.
