Fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology

The Neurointerventional Radiology Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a minimum 24-month advanced fellowship providing extensive training in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, along with intensive care medicine. Fellows gain experience in cerebral and spinal vascular imaging and minimally invasive neurovascular procedures, with approximately 1,000 diagnostic neuroradiology cases and 600 interventional cases annually. The program is supervised by dedicated neurointerventional faculty and provides multidisciplinary training for the management of complex disorders of the brain and spinal cord. UCSF accepts four trainees per year, and the fellowship does not participate in the NRMP Match.

1. Submit the UCSF online fellowship application; Neurointerventional Radiology uses a rolling application process.
2. Submit a current CV.
3. Submit a personal statement describing career goals and plans.
4. Upload a digital headshot.
5. Submit USMLE/COMLEX or equivalent examination scores.
6. Provide 3 current letters of recommendation, including one from the current program director; up to 5 letters are accepted.
7. Ensure all required materials are complete; applications are not reviewed until the application is complete.
8. Candidates are selected for personal interviews based on the strength of the completed application.
9. The fellowship does not participate in the NRMP Match.
10. Selected candidates must complete credentialing, California medical licensing, and employment/visa requirements before appointment.
