Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology

1. Must have completed a 3-year ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship before starting the fellowship.
2. Must be board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease at the start of training.
3. For the University of Minnesota GME requirements, applicants must have completed or anticipate completion of an ACGME-accredited U.S. or ACGME-I Internal Medicine or combined medicine residency before fellowship and must have passed USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3.

The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota is a one-year, ACGME-accredited advanced fellowship focused on advanced catheter-based cardiovascular procedures. Fellows train across three clinical sites and develop proficiency in coronary intervention, balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placement, coronary physiology, intravascular ultrasound, coronary blood-flow measurement, ASD closure, and percutaneous wound closure, with additional exposure to valve dilation. The program also provides opportunities for research, scholarly activities, innovation, and conference presentations.
