Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology

1. Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease (General Cardiology) Fellowship or equivalent training before starting the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship
2. Must hold a medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) from an accredited medical school
3. Must have completed required training in Internal Medicine and General Cardiology
4. Applicants should be eligible for medical licensure in the United States/California before beginning fellowship training
5. International medical graduates must meet UCSF credentialing requirements and visa eligibility requirements (J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship options are available as per institutional policies)

The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a one-year advanced clinical fellowship designed to provide comprehensive training in invasive cardiovascular procedures and complex interventional therapies. The program focuses on advanced coronary interventions, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), complex and high-risk coronary procedures, structural heart interventions, and peripheral vascular procedures. Fellows receive extensive hands-on training in catheterization laboratories across UCSF Health, San Francisco VA Medical Center, and affiliated clinical sites, while also participating in multidisciplinary cardiovascular care, research, quality improvement activities, and academic education. The fellowship prepares physicians to become skilled interventional cardiologists capable of managing complex cardiovascular diseases and performing advanced catheter-based procedures.

8. Matched candidates begin the one-year Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at UCSF in July
