The Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine provides comprehensive clinical and research training in adult infectious diseases. Eligibility

  1. Must complete an Internal Medicine Residency Program from an accredited U.S. or Canadian training program
  2. Must be eligible to sit for the ABIM certifying examination
  3. Must successfully pass the Internal Medicine ABIM examination by the end of the first year of fellowship
  4. Applicants must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid J-1 or H-1 visa
  5. International Medical Graduates must have a valid ECFMG Certificate

Admission Process:

  1. Submit the application through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service)
  2. Upload the required documents through ERAS:
  3. Application form
  4. Personal statement
  5. 3 reference letters from supervising physicians, including 1 letter from the Residency Program Director
  6. USMLE certified transcripts for Steps 1, 2, and 3
  7. ECFMG Certificate, if applicable
  8. MSPE (Dean’s Letter)
  9. Medical school transcript
  10. The program reviews completed applications and selects candidates for interview
  11. Participate in the required interview process
  12. Interviews include a program overview, faculty interviews, and an informal meeting with current fellows
  13. Register and participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Medical Specialties Matching Program
  14. Final match notification is provided through NRMP
