The Headache Medicine Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Rockford is a one-year, ACGME-accredited clinical fellowship that provides advanced training in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of primary and secondary headache disorders and craniofacial pain. The program offers comprehensive outpatient and inpatient clinical experience, multidisciplinary rotations, procedural training, and research opportunities. Fellows gain expertise in evidence-based headache therapies, including botulinum toxin injections, peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and other interventional procedures, while working closely with specialists in neurology, pain medicine, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and related disciplines. The fellowship prepares physicians for independent practice and leadership roles in headache medicine, academic neurology, and clinical research.
