Fellows receive a stipend at the Postgraduate Year 6 (PGY-6) level according to the UAB compensation structure.

The Head and Neck Oncology Fellowship at UAB Heersink School of Medicine provides advanced training in the surgical management of head and neck cancers. Fellows gain extensive experience in head and neck oncologic surgery, ablative procedures, microvascular reconstruction, endocrine surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, and complex reconstructive procedures. The fellowship also includes multidisciplinary cancer care, clinical research, and academic activities.

Complete and submit the AHNS fellowship application.
Applicants who completed medical education outside the United States or Canada must complete the separate UAB application in addition to registering with AHNS.
The program reviews applications and selects candidates for further consideration/interviews.
Complete the fellowship selection/matching process as required by AHNS.
Selected candidates complete UAB's institutional appointment and credentialing requirements before starting the fellowship.
