Fellowship in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery

1. Must have completed Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency training
2. Must be eligible to obtain a California Medical License
3. Must meet UCSF requirements for appointment as a Clinical Instructor
4. Applicants should have appropriate training and clinical experience for advanced head and neck oncologic, endocrine, and skull base surgery training

The Bryan Hemming Endowed Fellowship in Head and Neck Cancer at UCSF is a one-year advanced clinical fellowship focused on head and neck oncologic, endocrine, and skull base surgery. Fellows receive extensive operative training in the management of cancers involving the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, skin, parotid, thyroid, parathyroid, sinonasal region, skull base, and neck. The fellowship also provides exposure to microvascular reconstruction, free-flap surgery, transoral robotic surgery, endoscopic procedures, and multidisciplinary head and neck cancer care. Fellows participate in tumor boards, teaching activities, research, dissection courses, and academic conferences, preparing them for advanced clinical practice and academic careers in head and neck oncologic surgery.
