Overview
The Fellowship in Gynaecology & Obstetrics is designed to upskill medical practitioners in both obstetric and gynaecological care. Over roughly one year, the course combines theoretical online modules covering topics such as female reproductive anatomy & physiology, antenatal/postnatal care, complications during pregnancy, labour & delivery, gynaecological issues like menstrual disorders, infertility, sexually transmitted infections, and gynecologic surgeries. In addition, there is a practical/clinical component (observerships or hands-on training in hospitals) that enables participants to apply their knowledge under supervision. Assessments (MCQs, viva, possibly online exams) help evaluate learning. The goal is to build confidence and competence so that the fellow can manage normal deliveries, common obstetric and gynaecological problems, basic surgical interventions, and provide comprehensive women’s health care services in their clinical settings.
