Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry

1. Must complete or have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program, an American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-approved residency, or an eligible Canadian residency accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
2. The residency must qualify the applicant to sit for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Psychiatry Board examination.
3. Must be a U.S. citizen or have appropriate documentation permitting legal training at Stanford University Medical Center. Stanford Health Care does not sponsor H-1B visas; only J-1 visas can be sponsored for this fellowship.
4. Must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California.
5. Must provide successful passing scores for United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Parts 1, 2, and 3.
6. International medical graduates must provide Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification, when applicable.
7. Three professional recommendation letters are required, including one from the psychiatry training director and at least one from a Geriatric Psychiatry supervisor.

1. Complete the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship application form.
2. Submit a copy of the medical school diploma and/or transcripts.
3. Provide documentation of completed postgraduate medical education.
4. Submit applicable state medical license(s), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate, and board certifications.
5. Submit ECFMG certification and visa documentation, when applicable.
6. Submit a curriculum vitae and personal statement.
7. Submit three professional letters of recommendation as specified by the program.
8. Provide documentation of successful USMLE Parts 1, 2, and 3 scores.
9. Meet the California medical licensure requirements.
