Fellowship in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology

1. Completion of a pathology residency appropriate for advanced fellowship training in gastrointestinal and liver pathology.
2. Candidates must meet the Cedars-Sinai Graduate Medical Education fellowship eligibility requirements.
3. Candidates must be eligible for the required California medical license.
4. International Medical Graduates must meet applicable Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) requirements.
5. Candidates must be able to satisfy Cedars-Sinai medical staff and clinical appointment requirements. The Cedars-Sinai fellowship application includes professional licensure, certification, clinical-privilege, and professional-conduct requirements.

The Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides advanced subspecialty training in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. The fellowship offers comprehensive exposure to gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic pathology through evaluation of biopsies, resections and complex surgical specimens. Fellows gain experience in diagnostic pathology, immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology, multidisciplinary conferences, consultations, teaching and research, with opportunities to develop expertise in the interpretation of complex gastrointestinal and liver pathology cases.

2. Provide an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. Submit a personal statement describing your interest in gastrointestinal and liver pathology.
4. Provide the required letters of recommendation.
5. Submit required medical education, training, examination, and licensure documentation.
6. International Medical Graduates must provide applicable Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) documentation.
7. The program reviews eligible applications and conducts the interview and selection process.
8. Selected applicants must complete Cedars-Sinai's required credentialing and Graduate Medical Education appointment requirements before beginning fellowship training.
