Fellowship in Gastroenterology

1. Must have completed or be expected to complete an ACGME-accredited U.S. or ACGME-I Internal Medicine or combined medicine residency before starting the fellowship.
2. Must have passed USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3.
3. For the 3-year Gastroenterology Fellowship, the program considers U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and J-1 visa applicants.
4. H-1B visa sponsorship is not provided by this program.

The Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a 3-year ACGME-accredited program that provides comprehensive training in gastroenterology through inpatient and outpatient clinical rotations, endoscopic procedures, subspecialty clinics, and research. Fellows receive approximately 6 months of dedicated research training and gain clinical experience at multiple teaching hospitals. The program also includes regular didactic sessions, journal clubs, case presentations, faculty lectures, research presentations, and visiting-speaker sessions to develop clinical, procedural, and academic expertise in gastroenterology.
