Overview

The Foot and Ankle Advanced Reconstruction Fellowship at The CORE Institute is a comprehensive one-year surgical training program designed for physicians seeking expertise in complex foot and ankle procedures. The fellowship provides intensive exposure to advanced reconstructive techniques including forefoot and hindfoot reconstruction, trauma management, and total ankle replacement surgery. Fellows work closely with experienced surgeons in a high-volume orthopedic practice, allowing them to develop surgical skills and clinical judgment. The program integrates operative training, outpatient clinical practice, and academic activities to ensure well-rounded professional development. Research is a major component of the fellowship, with fellows required to produce academic manuscripts and participate in national orthopedic meetings. The fellowship also offers experience in arthroscopy, external fixation, and Charcot reconstruction procedures. Academic teaching sessions, case discussions, and journal clubs further enhance the educational experience. Overall, the program prepares fellows for advanced clinical practice or academic careers in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery.
