Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

1. Must have completed a Head and Neck Surgery residency.
2. The residency must be from an accredited program.
3. Applicants should meet the requirements for participation in the UCLA fellowship program.
4. Applicants must be eligible to pursue advanced training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
5. The fellowship is intended for physicians seeking advanced training in both aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery.

Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center is a major teaching hospital associated with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The one-year Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provides broad training in both aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery for graduates of accredited Head and Neck Surgery residency programs. Fellows gain extensive experience in facial aesthetic surgery, major head and neck microvascular reconstruction, and Mohs reconstruction, with opportunities to work with specialists in dermatology and oculoplastics. The program also includes research, publication, teaching, and progressively increasing surgical independence, with training at UCLA and in Santa Barbara. Fellows are expected to complete a research paper and the fellowship examination at the end of the training year.

1. Complete an accredited Head and Neck Surgery residency.
2. Apply through the American Association of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
3. Submit the application approximately 18 months before the July 1 start date.
4. The program reviews applications and selects candidates for the fellowship.
5. Selected candidates enter the one-year Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
