Fellowship in Emergency Medicine Research

The Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is a 24-month fellowship designed to prepare physicians for careers as independent emergency medicine clinical researchers and academic clinician-educators. Fellows receive advanced training in clinical research methodology, statistical analysis, protocol development, clinical trials, informed consent, data collection and analysis, grant writing, and research publication. Each fellow develops and leads an independent clinical research project, presents findings at regional and national meetings, prepares scientific manuscripts, participates in research committees and journal review, and works as an attending physician in the Los Angeles General Medical Center Emergency Department. Research opportunities include areas such as EMS, disaster medicine, mobile health, access to emergency care, asthma, HIV, pediatric/adolescent mental health, and medical decision-making.

1. Meet the California medical license and ABEM/ABOEM eligibility requirements.
2. Prepare the required academic and professional documents.

4. Submit the fellowship application according to the instructions provided by the program.
5. Complete the program's selection/interview process.
