Fellowship in Electrophysiology

1. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology) Fellowship
2. Board eligibility/certification in cardiovascular disease by an appropriate certifying board
3. Valid U.S. medical licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
4. Submission of fellowship application (CV, letters of recommendation, personal statement)
5. Participation in the formal application and interview process as set by the program

The Electrophysiology Fellowship at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is one of the longest-running and ACGME-accredited clinical cardiac electrophysiology programs in the United States. Established decades ago, it offers comprehensive clinical and research training in the field of cardiac arrhythmias, device therapy, ablation techniques, and advanced rhythm management. Fellows train under the supervision of expert faculty across multiple electrophysiology laboratories that perform a high volume of procedures — including catheter ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and complex device management. The curriculum blends hands-on clinical procedural experience, outpatient consultation practice, inpatient consults, didactic conferences, weekly teaching rounds, surface ECG and intracardiac tracing analysis, journal clubs, and research activity. Fellows progress from observing procedures early in training to acting as primary operators under supervision, developing proficiency in both diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology. They also participate in scholarly activity and are encouraged to contribute to peer-reviewed research. Graduates of the program have pursued successful careers in academic electrophysiology, private practice, and leadership roles in advanced heart rhythm care.
