The Cornea, Refractive, and Complex Anterior Segment Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Irvine is a one-year advanced ophthalmology fellowship focused on comprehensive training in the diagnosis and surgical management of corneal diseases, refractive disorders, and complex anterior segment conditions. The program provides extensive clinical and surgical experience in areas such as corneal transplantation, complex cataract surgery, intraocular lens management, anterior segment reconstruction, corneal infections, ocular surface disease, and refractive procedures including LASIK and PRK. Fellows receive hands-on training at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute and affiliated clinical sites, along with opportunities in research, teaching, and advanced surgical techniques. The fellowship prepares graduates for careers as cornea specialists, anterior segment surgeons, refractive surgeons, and academic ophthalmologists.
