Overview

A Fellowship in Clinical Cardiology is designed to upgrade a doctor’s proficiency in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular diseases. It combines theoretical learning with practical experience under supervision in a hospital or clinical setting. Over the course, fellows typically learn interpretation of diagnostic tools (ECG, echocardiography, stress tests), management of acute and chronic cardiac conditions (heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease), and skills in preventive cardiology such as lifestyle management and risk factor modification. The program aims to produce clinicians who can deliver evidence-based cardiac care, understand the latest guidelines, and work in outpatient and inpatient settings. Many such fellowships incorporate online modules plus clinical rotations/observerships in partner hospitals. They are suited for doctors who have completed basic medical qualifications and want specialisation without going for a full super-speciality DM or equivalent.
