The Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is a two-year ACGME-accredited fellowship focused on the psychiatric assessment and treatment of children from infancy through late adolescence. The first year emphasizes hospital-based training in emergency psychiatry, adolescent inpatient care, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and pediatric neurology, while the second year focuses on outpatient care, including medication management and psychotherapy. Fellows also receive training in child development, psychopathology, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, autism spectrum disorders, family therapy, trauma-focused CBT, school psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, cultural psychiatry, and research. Training is provided at Los Angeles General Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, with opportunities for electives, teaching, scholarly projects, and interdisciplinary team leadership.
