Fellowship in Breast Onco-Surgery

The Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a one-year advanced training program focused on the comprehensive surgical management of breast diseases. Fellows gain extensive clinical and operative experience in breast surgery, with exposure to breast imaging, medical and radiation oncology, pathology, plastic surgery, genetics, psycho-oncology, rehabilitation, and survivorship. The program emphasizes progressive procedural autonomy, multidisciplinary patient-centered care, teaching, research, and scholarly development, preparing fellows for independent practice and leadership in multidisciplinary breast care.

1. Applicants must apply through the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO)-sponsored Match Process
2. Candidates participate in the SSO Match interview and selection process
3. Interviews are conducted in the year prior to the resident’s final year of training
4. Applicants must complete the required residency and meet the program’s eligibility requirements before fellowship entry
5. Selected candidates enter the one-year Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship, with the inaugural fellowship year beginning in August 2027
