Fellowship in Abdominal Organ Transplantation

• Hold an MD/DO or an equivalent medical degree (MBBS or equivalent for international graduates).
• Successfully complete a U.S. General Surgery Residency or an equivalent residency program before the fellowship begins.
• Be eligible to obtain an Illinois Medical License.
• Obtain a DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certificate before the fellowship start date.
• International medical graduates must have passed the USMLE examinations to be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois

The Abdominal Organ Transplant Fellowship is an ASTS-accredited two-year fellowship that provides advanced training in multi-organ transplantation. Fellows gain extensive experience in liver, kidney, pancreas, and small bowel transplantation, along with hepatobiliary surgery and vascular access procedures. The program offers comprehensive exposure to donor and recipient surgery, perioperative management, multidisciplinary transplant care, research, and academic activities, preparing fellows for careers in academic or clinical transplant surgery.
